Public Policy

Sketch of Big Ben

We campaign for changes in Government policy. When new policies are proposed, we consider the implications for blind and partially sighted people.

RNIB often responds to Green and White Papers published by the UK Government.

White Papers are issued by the Government as statements of policy. They often set out proposals for legislative change, which may be debated before a Bill is introduced in Parliament.

Green Papers set out proposals that are still at a formative stage for discussion.

Our submissions to Green and White Papers are based on direct consultation with people with sight loss, including our members.
