Welfare reform bill

The Welfare Reform Bill, introduced into Parliament in February 2011, heralds a number of changes to out of work and disability benefits.

We're concerned that changes to Disability Living Allowance and Employment Support Allowance threaten the independence of blind and partially sighted people.

This comes at a time of severe Local Authority spending cuts which threaten the provision of vital local services.

Welfare Reform 2011 successes

We stepped up the pressure on the Government in 2011, keeping Welfare Room on the agenda and in people's minds. We also brought about real change for people in residential care homes.
