In October 2008 RNIB ran a campaign to promote Eye Health encouraging people to go for a regular eye test and look after their eyes as they would their teeth. Backed by the Eye Health Alliance, the Association of Optometrists and the optical sector as a whole we were also supported by more than seven major retail groups and opticians.

Eye health and staff and customer well-being
We work with corporate social responsibility, human resources and diversity teams to raise awareness of the importance of eye health in relation to general health issues.
50 per cent of sight loss is avoidable. People believe that because they have good eyesight their eyes are fine. In reality, having good eyesight does not necessarily mean you have healthy eyes. Eye health is important for staff well-being and we can support you in achieving that.
