Taking part in employee fundraising can have great benefits for companies and their staff. Not only can it help to bring staff together and motivate them, it can also encourage teamwork and loyalty across the organisation.
Running marathons, blindfold and braille events, 'Dotty' dress down days, cake sales, slave auctions, wine tasting, sponsored walks, gardening and decorating - these are just some of the ways company employees have been raising money for RNIB. Our recent supporters include Simmons and Simmons, Coventry Building Society, Orange UK, Bank of America and Qualcomm.
Team building
Knowing the work and fundraising efforts will have a significant impact on the lives of blind and partially sighted people helps to convey a positive atmosphere across the workplace.
This positive corporate image will become ingrained in your company culture for everyone to experience from staff to clients and suppliers.
Tailor your fundraising
We can tailor individual skills packages to fulfil your specific requirements. Anything from improving communications to motivating staff through team building exercises. We'll provide you with innovative fundraising ideas, advice and support as well as the opportunity to see where the money goes and how you can make a difference.
Payroll giving
Payroll giving is a simple, regular way to give to RNIB. Since 1999 over £1.5 million has been donated to RNIB through workplace giving.
Give as you earn is the most well known scheme. About 2,000 donors in more than 400 companies currently donate to RNIB in this tax efficient way from their gross pay. Over 50 of these companies have chosen to match their staff contributions. RNIB's biggest double match donator is the Royal Bank of Scotland. Having successfully promoted payroll giving across the board Barclays, Tesco, Royal Mail, Rolls Royce, Royal Bank of Scotland, BT and Royal and Sun Alliance have all been given Gold awards for their schemes to all charities.
Pennies from Heaven is another workplace giving scheme. This method allows you to roll down your salary to the nearest pound. Barclays have donated almost £10,000 in this way.
If you would like more information about payroll giving and other methods of workplace giving, please contact RNIB's designated payroll giving coordinator Anne Fisher on anne.fisher@rnib.org.uk or 01377 217772.
