We are delighted to tell you that we raised in excess of £870,000 at our recent Gala Dinner on 10 October. This outstanding amount will go towards funding essential RNIB work such as our Actionnaires scheme for children and some of our other vital frontline services.
The event featured the charismatic Alexander Armstrong as host, as well as an auction led by Sotheby's Chairman, Henry Wyndham. The highlight was a performance by the legendary Sir Tom Jones, who showcased some of his most spectacular hits.
Thank you
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who made the fundraising such a massive success. By donating an auction prize, taking part in the bidding or pledging, our guests made an enormous contribution to our vital work.
Finally we are extremely grateful to everyone who attended and made the evening such a special and memorable occasion.
A few words from our supporters
Sir Tom Jones said of the evening
"I'm absolutely delighted to be performing at RNIB's Gala Dinner. I can only imagine some of the challenges there must be for people who cannot see or who are losing their sight. I am proud that I can play a part in ensuring that children with sight loss and their families can continue to rely on the great work of RNIB."

"As Chairman of RNIB's Gala Committee, it fills me with immense pride to have overseen yet another wonderful event that raised a really fantastic amount for the charity. We are delighted that Sir Tom was able to perform for us and make it a really unforgettable evening.
I would like to personally thank Sir Tom, my committee and all the guests for helping to ensure that RNIB can continue to provide vital services for blind and partially sighted children and their families".
