IT Courses at Midlands' Beacon Centre

IT courses are being offered by the Beacon Centre

RNIB and Action for Blind People are holding a free IT event at Beacon Centre for the Blind in Wolverhampton on 22 October 2009. We are celebrating three years of the Black Country Project and would love you to come and join us.

The Black Country Project is funded by Microsoft and was set up to provide accessible IT training for blind and partially sighted people in the West Midlands with a view to helping them find employment.

The event will include talks from Action Chief Executive - Stephen Remington, Microsoft and Action technology officers. There will also be software demonstrations, a tour of the centre and a delicious buffet lunch.

New courses

Together with the Beacon Centre, Action for Blind People's technical team will be offering six week courses to blind and partially sighted people. The course aims to teach people about access technology and how this can be used to keep in touch with friends and family as well as for job hunting.
