Good luck to all running in the Virgin London Marathon!

Support our marathon runners

We want to wish the very best of luck to everybody taking part in this year's Virgin London Marathon, especially the 133 runners who will be running as part of Team RNIB on Sunday 22 April.

RNIB needs you

You can come and support Team RNIB on race day! All support is really appreciated by the runners, "Many thanks to all that were at the RNIB cheering points. The tremendous eruption of fanfare and cheering as I went past was fantastic and really helped me keep pushing on to the end!" Steve, 2011 London Marathon runner.

The RNIB cheering points will be at mile 13 and mile 22, on The Highway in East London.
For more information about joining an RNIB cheering point, please contact events@rnib.org.uk or call us on 0845 345 0054.

We are family!

This year Team RNIB has embraced the family spirit! We have:

  • Mr and Mrs Shorting
  • The Black family (5 runners)
  • The Elliot family (father and daughter)
  • The Janew cousins (2 runners)
  • Mr and Mrs Tapsell
  • The Wright family (father and daughter)

Not to forget our corporate team of 7 runners from M&G! A special shout out must go to Paul Martin and Archie Macgregor who have now taken part in over 5 marathons each for RNIB!

See you all soon at the post-marathon reception.

Feel inspired?

Hopefully you will come and support our runners this year. But maybe next year you would like to run rather than being on the sidelines. If so, why not register your interest for the Virgin London Marathon 2013.

Not ready to take on a full marathon yet? Why not try the Bupa London 10,000 2012? Set in London, much of the course will be the same as the route used for the men's and women's Olympic marathon courses this year! This is a great opportunity to live the Olympic dream but over a shorter distance.

Right now we can only reach one in three of the people who need our help most.

Please make a donation and help us support more blind and partially sighted people.

John never thought about his sight until he lost itChange a life

'I couldn't do the things I used to; I couldn't even see my daughter's face'. There are many ways to lose your sight. With your donation there are just as many ways we can help.
