Help prioritise future Lottery funding for young people!

The Big Lottery Fund is working with young people

20 young people from across England are working with the Big Lottery Fund (BIG) to decide the priority areas for its new investment in young people. This will be a multi-million pound investment that will benefit young people from across the country - and young people are at the heart of designing it.

This team is looking at current issues that young people face and will use feedback from other young people to advise BIG on what they should invest in.

Issues identified so far

The issues that have been identified so far broadly come under the following categories:

  • Unemployment (including education and training)
  • Leisure plus (having constructive places to go with good support services)
  • Safety (violence and gangs)
  • Young peoples' portrayal in the media
  • Young peoples' self image and identity
  • Health and wellbeing (mental health, stress, bullying, sexual health and substances)

The next task is to decide what the three most important issues are, so that the group can focus its work
and make sure they help achieve real, lasting impact for young people.
