Be the first to run on the OIympics 2012 track

We're offering members of the public the chance to be one of the first people in the world to run at the Olympic Stadium in Stratford on Sunday 1 April.

The Gold Challenge event offers an opportunity of a lifetime for sports fans to run on the world famous athletic track in a 100m sprint against other charity runners.

You'll be up against Team GB legends, celebrity charity ambassadors and representatives from the other 150 UK charities involved in this event. With an expected crowd of around 20,000 - all runners can expect a very warm welcome.

How to get your place

There are two ways to take part:

  1. sign up for the Gold Challenge and you'll automatically be entered into a draw to win a a place. For more information, email us at events@rnib.org.uk or call us on 0845 345 0054 (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm).
  2. if you're interested in buying a place, please call us on 0845 345 0054 (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm) and ask to speak to Laura.

What's included on the day

  • VIP entry to the Olympic Park, including fast track entry through security, before the general public are allowed into the park
  • Entry into the Olympic Stadium via the official athlete route
  • Pre-race warm up with an athlete on the indoor track, which will be used for training by track and field athletes during the Games
  • A lane in a 100m race -against eight other competitors
  • Photo finish
  • two guest passes for a stadium seat to watch the day's activities
