A massive thank you to each and every runner in our 2011 Virgin London Marathon team, we really appreciate all of your hard work. Our team of 128 runners did so well, and we really enjoyed cheering you on and meeting some of you at our reception.

Dan and Laura's story
Dan ran the Virgin London Marathon for RNIB last year, and true to his word returned to run with us again this year. Even though he admitted that training throughout winter was brutal, the atmosphere and crowds were so amazing that he came back for more. "The day was hard, but the crowds were amazing, and I was determined to get round. I loved the day and it has been fantastic to be a part of Team RNIB again this year."
Dan raised over £1800 for RNIB last year, and along with his running partner, Laura, has already raised nearly £3000 this year. A first time runner, Laura was nervous about taking on a marathon but also loved the day:
"I had been talking about running the marathon for years, but Dan really inspired me to get on with it. I am so glad I did. It was hard, but one of the best experiences of my life. If you build up slowly anyone can run a marathon. When I first crossed the finish line I said "never again" but I have already signed up for my next event with RNIB."

Feel inspired?
Hopefully you will come and support our runners this year. But maybe next year you'd like to run rather than being on the sidelines. Register your interest for the Virgin London Marathon 2012.
Not ready to take on a full marathon yet? Why not try a shorter route, such as the Asics British 10km 2011? Set in London, much of the course will be the same as the route used for the men's and women's Olympic marathon courses in 2012. This is a great opportunity to live the Olympic dream but over a shorter distance!
