CD and DVD recycling

Recycle your unwanted CDs and DVDs

We need your old CD's and DVDs! By recycling just 100 CDs RNIB can raise £50.

With the rise of iTunes, digital music and downloads, many people have redundant CDs and DVDs lying around their home. If you would like to recycle your old CDs and unwanted DVDs please donate them to RNIB and we will use the funds raised to support blind and partially sighted people across the UK.

CD and DVD recycling is becoming increasingly popular, however most companies only offer 20p per item. Our partners, The Recycling Appeal, pay 50p for each disc returned which is a great way to fund raise for RNIB.

How to recycle your CDs and DVDs

CDs and DVDs cannot be returned in freepost envelopes. If you have CDs and DVDs ready to recycle, please complete the registration form and we will be in touch.

Please note, there is a minimum requirement of 100 items for a free collection.

What we can't recycle

We cannot accept the following:

  • CD singles or EP's
  • Promotional CDs (ones given away free with newspapers or magazines)
  • Copies or fakes
  • Items without a barcode
  • Items marked 'not for resale'
  • Items with missing artwork, cases or discs
  • Discs which are badly damaged

Every day almost 100 people in the UK will start to lose their sight. Right now RNIB can only reach one in three of the people who need our help most. Recycle and help us reach them all.
