Janet is 46 and has been blind with very little residual vision most of her life.
She is currently volunteering three days a week at the Resource Centre at RNIB's head office where she helps to demonstrate products which make everyday living easier for blind and partially sighted people.
Janet has a beautiful five year old guide dog called Wheat who is a German Shepherd Golden Retriever cross. She is the fourth guide dog Janet has owned.
In her spare time Janet enjoys cooking and is our very own Delia!
She is also keen on music, reading and technology.
About the Resource Centre
In her capacity as an RNIB volunteer, Janet demonstrates a wide variety of products for blind and partially sighted people at the RNIB Resource Centre in Judd Street, London, including talking and electrical kitchen utensils, computer software, phones, audio and large print books and much more.
The Resource Centre also holds a range of leaflets on eye conditions and services available.

Janet runs a Yahoo Groups mailing list for blind and partially sighted cooks called UK VI Cooks. To join just send a blank email to UKVICooks-subscribe@yahoogroups.co.uk and Janet will add you to the list. The emails include recipes, information on useful gadgets, advice and tips. Among Janet's favourite recipes are her seasonal plum crumble and classic lemon drizzle cake.
