Mrs Bygraves is 83 and lives in Bristol. She and her husband have been supporting RNIB for quite a few years now and plan to leave a legacy to help RNIB continue their support to blind and partially sighted people in years to come.
Reasons for leaving a Legacy
"I have always thought that the eyes are so precious and the thought of losing my sight is terrifying - it is my one fear, the one thing that would take away my independence.
"We support other charities, but as we got older and our sight deteriorated, we began to understand how awful it would if we lost more of our sight and realised that when people, a lot younger, suddenly lose their sight it must be terrible.
"We know that RNIB provide many different services and support - the production of Braille, large print, and the Talking Book Service to name a few - and we know that if anything happened to our sight there are people at RNIB who we could contact to help and support us. That is very important - knowing there is somebody out there who would help with emotional and practical support.
"We haven't got the free time to become volunteers and do things for people, which is what we would like to do, so all we can do is help with donations and when we both pass away there will be money there to help RNIB support others in the future."
