Your forum, your say!

Invitation to your Northern Ireland RNIB Member Forum on Thursday 15 November.

RNIB and the other charities in RNIB Group are beginning to think ahead to the future and make plans about where we should focus our efforts from 2014 onwards.

We want members to shape the future direction of our work from 2014 to 2019 and find out where we can make the greatest impact. We want our work to be rooted in the needs and experiences of blind and partially sighted people and to know that we are making a real difference to people's lives.

So at this member forum we want you to give us your views on what you think should be the important areas of work that we focus our resources on in our next five-year plan. We also want you to think about any projects and activities that we should stop doing. You can find out more by reading the August/September issue of Vision magazine.

If you can't make the day and still want to join the debate you can take part in a forum on the phone. This will take place on Wednesday 7 November at 6pm from the comfort of your home. We will ring you so that you can take part totally free of charge.

If you are not able to attend this forum in person or by phone, you can give us your views online or by calling or writing to us. Find out more by visiting rnib.org.uk/thefuture, where you can view some short films and complete an online questionnaire. Alternatively call us on 020 7391 2160 to request a booklet about the key issues facing blind and partially sighted people and RNIB group. The closing date for giving us your views is Friday 16 November 2012.

We want you, as members, to also help us to open the discussion about our future plans from 2014 to other blind and partially sighted people. If you know a non-member with sight loss and would like them to come along to share their views they would be most welcome. They will also need to register for the day. This is the only forum open to non-members and non-members will not be able to vote for your member representatives.
