Calling all blind and partially sighted people who want accessible bus services! Join this unique event on Friday the 19th of July and swap places with a bus driver! RNIB are organising an event which will let bus drivers swap places with their blind and partially sighted customers, so they can really understand why we are calling for urgent accessibility improvements. You'll get the opportunity to swap places with a bus driver on a real bus and have the opportunity to speak to bus drivers and senior members of First Bus staff about the barriers you may face when using buses and what they are doing to improve access. This event will launch the RNIB 'Stop for me, speak to me' bus campaign's Fortnight of Action, a series of activities taking place across the country and will be attended by local MP Tristram Hunt.

Come along and have a go on this exciting high ropes course with over 30 obstacles including balancing beams, zip wires, rope bridges and a parachute simulator!. There is no minimum age restriction (minimum height 1.3m, maximum weight 120kg). If your child is below this height, but would still like to attend please get in touch as there is also a Junior Tree Trail available. Come and spend the morning meeting all the lovely animals that have been rescued and who now live happily ever after at the Sanctuary! The afternoon will include grooming the ponies, meeting the other animals (including pigs, donkeys and chickens!), walking the ponies around an assault course and we will finish off with a picnic! There's a coffee shop on site so great for a rest before browsing some more.

FANCY YOURSELF A STAR BAKER? Why not test your skills at the BAKE OFF!! Saturday 7th September 2013 Tasty fun for visually impaired people and great prizes too! In conjunction with Action for Blind People we are planning a "Bake Off" event for visually impaired people in London and the South East. This event is open to participants with any kind of visual impairment. There will be two events (one for 11-17 year olds, and another for those aged 18-29), and separate prizes for each event. The event will take place on Saturday 7th September at RNIB Redhill Community Living Service, Philanthropic Road, Redhill, RH1 4DZ. Your start times will be provided nearer the date but all participants will have between 1.5 and 2 hours to prepare and cook their chosen recipe(s). We ask all participants to provide a packed lunch and other activities will be available whilst the judging is happening! This is not just a chance to win prizes for your baking abilities! It is also an opportunity for visually impaired people to meet others in similar situations in a fun and relaxed environment. If you are interested in getting involved in this event please ask the person who provided you with this flyer for an expression of interest form or there is one available on the Action for Blind People website at www.actionforblindpeople.org.uk
