I am 33, dad of two, live in Barcelona, work from home and work as a software developer. I started using a screenreader 2 years ago due to a neurological condition that affects my eyes. I really want to talk to other people who also work so I can learn more about how they deal with the limitations of their conditions. I guess I struggle a lot and wish I had some people to compare notes with. I have a demanding, highly technical job and have been working my socks off just trying to keep it, let alone excel at it. Sometimes I feel like ditching it all and moving to a farming community, just to get away from computers. I have built up a library of tips and tricks to use the software used by my industry and the corporate websites, and I wonder to myself all the time if there are other people out there feeling the same. If there was something like an AA group, except instead of sharing stories of addiction I would share my struggles with a screenreader and seek help from people in the same position.
