Volunteer role:

Out and about

Country:

England

English region:

North West England

Make a difference in your local community by ensuring money donated by the public into our iconic Sooty boxes is collected on a regular basis from local shops, pubs and leisure centres. The sooner these donations are made available for the benefit of blind and partially sighted people, the more efficient we can be in the delivery of our services.

Did you know that £700,000 was raised from loose change last year? It costs the RNIB £1 to produce a braille, large print or audio catalogue to tell blind and partially sighted people about the latest products to make life easier, and £15 to pay for an in-depth benefits check to ensure that a blind or partially sighted person is receiving all the help they are entitled to. The money you raise can help us provide these vital services to blind and partially sighted people.

Due to insurance requirements, you must be aged 18 or over to do this role.

This role does not require a DBS check.
