The Action for Blind People's local Resource Centre needs a volunteer to greet our visitors, provide administrative support and assist us with the day to day running of the Resource Centre. This varied and exciting volunteering opportunity will offer the chance to learn more about the services that Action and RNIB provide and to interact with, support and directly help our customers.
Please note that no CRB Check is required for this role.
What will I be doing?

Greeting visitors to the Resource Centre

Demonstrating a range of products sold at the Resource Centre

Gaining customer feedback through informal chats

Finding out the personal challenges of customers and discussing the relevant products and services

Guiding customers around the Resource Centre and meeting rooms
-
There may also be the opportunity to cover reception during lunchtimes
-
Answering the telephone, taking messages and transferring calls

Maintaining and updating information and stock control

General office duties such as photocopying and printing

When will I be needed?
We are open Mondays to Thursdays 10.30am to 4pm, and Friday 10.30am - 3pm. We would like our volunteers for between 3 - 10 hours per week, ideally including the lunchtime period.
Due to the training and development involved, we would ask that volunteers are able to commit to a minimum of 6 months.

You will be based at Action for Blind People's Bristol Still House Lane, Bedminster Bristol BS3 4EB
