Opportunities exist in a variety of locations for lively people to have social contact with blind or partially sighted clients. Activities may include quizzes, bingo, music, outings, reading or doing crosswords. You may wish to share an interest you have - local history, travel experiences etc. We are also looking for people to help run activities.
This role requires an Enhanced DBS Check.
What will I be doing?

To assist the Activities Organiser in a variety of tasks

To organise independent Activities Sessions if desired

To work within the boundaries of the role and to refer to members of staff when the need arises e.g. Personal Care
What skills can I bring to this role?
The Volunteer needs good communication skills and empathy with elderly blind or partially sighted people. The Volunteer needs to have an understanding of confidentiality and a flexible approach to the role

When will I be needed?
Kathleen Chambers House has a very flexible approach to this and we do not specify set hours. Volunteers give as much time as they feel able to as all our activities are on-going. We only ask that volunteers give us notice if they are unable to come in
