Kathleen Chambers House is a care home for 39 service users, offering full care and support to older people with sight loss and additional disabilities.

By volunteering as a Gardening Support Volunteer you can help us to maintain the garden area and ensure the continued growth of the greenery.

This role will not require a DBS check.

What will I be doing?

  • Watering grass and plants
  • Weeding
  • Sweeping
  • Litter picking in barked areas (minimal)
  • Mowing the lawns
  • Pruning plants/shrubs/bushes

When will I be needed?

During Office hours - days and hours to suit

Where will I be volunteering?

Outdoors at RNIB Kathleen Chambers House, Burnham on Sea.

  • Understanding Sight Loss Pack
  • Expenses - all out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed including expenses to attend training
  • Support from volunteer co-ordinator and Facilities Assistant/maintenance team
