Kathleen Chambers House is a care home for 39 service users, offering full care and support to older people with sight loss and additional disabilities.

As a Maintenance Support Volunteer you will be contributing to the upkeep of Kathleen Chambers House by helping with a variety of maintenance tasks such as painting and general repairs.

This role requires an Enhanced DBS Check.

What will I be doing?

  • Assisting the maintenance team with odd jobs throughout the house and garden
  • Repairing items such as garden furniture, fences and sheds
  • Painting and decorating

What skills and qualities can I bring to this role?

  • Basic maintenance skills
  • Reliability, enthusiasm and patience
  • Willingness to work as part of a team or independently where required

When will I be needed?

During office hours - days and hours to suit.

Where will I be volunteering?

RNIB Kathleen Chambers House, Burnham on Sea.

  • Support from volunteer co-ordinator and Facilities Assistant/maintenance team
