Make a difference in your local community, by supporting and expanding our already successful small team of dedicated volunteers. Be creative and use your social networking skills to investigate and create new events and activities for our clients. As well as recruiting new volunteers to help ensure the smooth running and deliverance of these activities.

What will I be doing?
-
Working alongside your care home manager you will be the first point of contact to support your local volunteering team

Supervising and planning workload of existing and new volunteers
-
Carrying out regular reviews for volunteers

Updating to our National Volunteering database (Training will be provided)

Design, develop and deliver an action plan for your area with your care home manager including recruiting, inducting, training and motivating volunteers

Investigating new events and activities to the benefit of our adult blind and partially sighted clients
What skills and qualities can I bring to this role?

Good communication skills, spoken and written

Basic IT and record keeping skills with access to a PC and internet

Full driving licence with use of own car (alternative arrangements can be made for blind or partially sighted people)

When will I be needed?
Hours can be negotiated with the care home manager. The days and times are flexible to suit you and can be weekdays, evenings or weekends
Location
This role can be home based or at Katherine Chambers House in Burnham on Sea, however a willingness to travel on occasions would be helpful.

Additional Information
If you are successful with this application, you will be asked to produce the following documentation:

A recent passport sized photograph of you. This will be used on your RNIB ID card. We are more than happy to reimburse you for the expense of the photograph processing and this can be done on your first expense claim form.
