Be part of the RNIB NI Children and Youth Team and help support children and young people with sight loss.
We are looking for a friendly and outgoing person who is interested in supporting a young person with additional needs to take part in a youth group one day per week. An enthusiasm to enable them to take part, awareness of their needs, patience, effective listening skills and a natural empathy for people are expected.

This role will require an enhanced a CRB check.

What will I be doing?

  • To guide and support a young person with sight loss and a learning disability in taking part in the various activities available at a youth club

  • To help communicate and socialise with others

What skills and qualities can I bring to this role?

  • Good communication skills

  • Outgoing personality
  • Ability to encourage and motivate young people with sight loss to participate in activities

When will I be needed?

Every Thursday from 10.00am until 3.30pm

Location

Based in Brownlow Resource Centre, Craigavon although may need to travel to Belfast Office on occasion.

  • Understanding Sight Loss Pack
  • Expenses - all out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed including expenses to attend training
  • Supervision and support from your volunteer manager/ co-ordinator
