We are looking for warm, polite and caring Social Activity Volunteers to assist at weekly meetings. Help blind and partially sighted people to gain independence and confidence whilst networking with others in their community at group meetings, activities and events.

An Access NI check is required for this role.

What will I be doing?

  • Acting as a sighted guide at group meetings, activities and events
  • Assisting RNIB staff and volunteers to provide refreshments to attendees
  • Advising and providing information to blind and partially sighted people of RNIB products and services

What skills and qualities can I bring to this role?

  • You will be a good communicator
  • Reliable, with a flexible approach
  • Able to explain and advise in a clear, patient manner
  • Warm and caring personality

When will I be needed?

The group meets weekly, every Thursday from 7.30pm to 9:30pm

Where will I be volunteering?

At the Edgcumbe Training and Resource Centre in East Belfast

What support will I be given?

  • Induction
  • Understanding Sight Loss Pack
  • Visual Awareness Training
  • Expenses - all out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed including expenses to attend training
  • Supervision and support from your volunteer manager
