Eye Wise Project Volunteer

We are currently looking for volunteers to get involved in our Eye Wise project.
The Children & Youth Team deliver a range of services to children and young people with sight loss (from birth to 25), their families, and the professionals who work with them. The role would be suitable for teaching staff or students in the fields of nursery, primary or secondary education.

This role will require an Access NI check.

What will I be doing?

  • To adapt the current programme in order that it can be aligned with the school curriculum (nursery, primary and secondary levels)
  • To create an up to date programme pack
  • To ensure materials and information are kept up to date
  • To assist staff in the Children and Youth Team with talks at various schools across Northern Ireland
  • To liaise with the Community Fundraising Executive for information on current fundraising activities and fundraising materials related to schools
  • To create and maintain a database of schools who request talks.

When will I be needed?

1-2 days per week/ flexible. This can be arranged via your volunteer manager.

How much time will I need to commit?

Ideally 1-2 days per week, though this may be flexible.

Location

Based at RNIB NI office in Belfast with travel to various venues and schools throughout Northern Ireland.
