Do you enjoy keeping fit, meeting new people and exploring your local area? Tandem cycling is a great way to have fun, stay healthy and get to know blind and partially sighted people in your area. The volunteer Tandem Pilot will be on the front, allowing the person with sight loss to cycle behind.
Lisburn in Focus hopes to make social and cultural events in the council area more inclusive. Do you have an outgoing and approachable personality? Are you confident in meeting new people? If you can't commit to regular hours or you are keen to develop your skills and experience of working with blind and partially sighted people then this would be the ideal role for you.
Do you have a strong interest in the issues concerning people with sight problems? Are you confident in front of large groups? Do you have good experience in using audio and visual equipment? If so, we would like to hear from you.

Make a difference in your community, support your local fundraising team to plan and deliver successful events. Be creative, use your social networking skills to engage your community in raising awareness and much needed funds. Be as innovative and quirky as you like or choose from a range of tried and tested activities such as; coffee mornings, quiz nights, fashion shows, sponsored walks, gala dinners or open gardens. Blind and partially sighted people gain great independence with help from our social activity volunteers who help with shopping trips, outings and events. With a warm, polite and caring personality you can help turn a life of isolation to a life of inclusion.
From your own home you can make a difference in your community by supporting your local fundraising team of staff and volunteers. Use your administrative skills to help our teams be even more successful at raising valuable funds to support blind and partially sighted people.
