Become part of an enthusiastic team reading and recording a wide variety of text material onto tape, CD and digital Daisy formats so that the information is accessible to blind, partially sighted people.
What will I be doing?

To read and present a variety of texts, as requested by the staff at the Transcription Centre

To follow instructions as to presentation of text

To listen to own recordings to check quality, and edit as necessary

To ensure confidentiality of material is maintained

To attend volunteer meetings and training as necessary
What skills can I bring to this role?

Have a clear voice and be able to read aloud fluently

Have an eye and ear for detail

Have a reasonable general knowledge

Be computer literate (for digital recording)

Be willing to commit to a minimum of 1 to 2 hours a week

When will I be needed?
Flexible to suit the applicant, however, a minimum commitment of two hours would be preferable.

RNIB NI Accessible Media Unit, based at 159 Durham Street, Belfast.
