RNIB Scottish Borders is a new service providing information and support to blind and partially sighted people within the region. It also provides a wide range of activities and services supported by volunteers. Befriending offers a supportive, reliable relationship to people who may otherwise be socially isolated.
A Volunteer Befriender is required in the Jedburgh area, you will meet with the client on a regular basis, generally once a week / fortnight. You may meet up for a chat, go out for a walk or visit the shops. Our customer is interested in music form the 80's and popular literature, ideally you would share these interests.
This role is subject to membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups scheme.
