In July 2014 the eyes of the world will be on Scotland for the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games. And at the heart of every successful Games are the volunteers. They're the people who give up their valuable time to make sure everything runs smoothly and without them the Games just wouldn't be the same.
And, hopefully, that's where you come in. We are looking for up to 15,000 of the friendliest, most enthusiastic people from all over Scotland (and beyond!) to volunteer at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games on 23 July to 3 August 2014.
If you spent hours glued to your TV during the Olympics, this is your chance to be part of that kind of experience right here in Scotland. Who knows, you might be the lucky person who shows Sir Chris Hoy into his very own Velodrome. Or, one of the friendly folk making sure the stragglers get to the Opening Ceremony on time. This is your chance to be play a key part in the experience.
Not all of the roles will be high profile or in the front line. And many might be away from the athletes. They are all, however, crucial to making sure the Games run smoothly. So if you're a friendly person who's committed to helping make this the best show that Scotland has ever seen, please contact us.
Applications open in mid-January 2013 but you can go online at the Glasgow 2014 website and register your interest now.
