Are you outgoing, confident and passionate about the issues that affect blind and partially sighted people? RNIB host and attend numerous events at various locations across the UK and we need you to make things run smoothly!
This is the perfect opportunity for someone who would like to learn more about RNIB, our services and the support we offer. If you can't commit to regular hours or you are keen to develop your skills and experience of working with blind and partially sighted people then this would be the ideal role for you. We are looking to create a list of volunteers who would be happy to be contacted on an ad hoc basis if an event occurs within your area.
This role does not require a DBS check
What will I be doing?
You will be working in a fast paced environment, with a team of staff and volunteers, providing behind the scenes or front of house support. The purpose of our events varies greatly and each is unique. The opportunities available will depend upon the nature of the event, but you could be a sighted guide, help out on reception, walk guide dogs, check badges, welcome delegates or even help setting up technical equipment.

Willingness to work long hours; many events require volunteers to attend from 8am to 7pm

When will I be needed?
This role is ad hoc. We will contact you when there is an event in your local area, but we cannot guarantee if and when something will be available.
Location
Areas local to you, however a willingness to travel on occasion would be helpful.
