This is a unique opportunity to work with blind and partially sighted children, young people and their families. You will be assisting with a range of CYF activities and events including sports, music, visits to attractions and crafts, supporting both the group and individuals as required. Your time and assistance can help RNIB Cymru provide blind and partially sighted children and young people with a safe and supported environment in which they can let off steam and have fun!
Due to the nature of this role volunteers need to be over 18.
This role will also require an enhanced DBS check.
What will I be doing?

Supporting the CYF staff / Activity Coordinators to assist with the smooth running of the events and activities

Supervising groups of children and young people during activities

Responding to the changing needs of the children and young people

Supporting children and young people throughout the event, including young person's requirements due to their visual difficulty

To act as a sighted guide and provide mobility support where required

Liaising between lead staff, professionals, parents and the children and young people

Researching new venues and activity providers in your area
What skills and qualities can I bring to this role?
When will I be needed?
CYF Day Events are generally organised for school holidays, evenings and weekends. You will be asked to commit to the whole event/activity, including arriving in time to assist with setting up and attend training if necessary.
Where will I be volunteering?
Various locations throughout North Wales, depending on where the CYF events/activities are taking place. Depending on the event/activity volunteers may be asked to make their own way to a venue.
