Do you have excellent communication skills? Can you build a rapport with people and put them at ease? Could you carry out telephone follow up on open and new cases that have been referred to our Welfare Rights Team? Do you have the technical knowledge and expertise to carrying out initial assessments and form filling with clients face to face?
If so, then we need YOU to help people stay independent and to guide them through the benefits maze. The role is important and by giving your time and skills you will be part of a dedicated team who make a real difference to the lives of blind and partially sighted people.
This role requires an Enhanced Check for Regulated Activity.
What will I be doing?

Carry out initial welfare benefit assessments. Where appropriate, complete benefit forms with the customer. This work will be carried out either in the office base, or in the customers own home.

Telephoning existing customers and external agencies to follow up outcomes on cases. Take on any further casework arising from follow up, in discussion with the Welfare Rights Officer

Accurate case recording using IT

Responding appropriately to any questions, concerns or worries the customer might have.

When will I be needed?
During office hours Monday to Friday - We aim to be flexible to suit your circumstances but completing a benefits form can be time consuming so expect to be able to give at least 4 hours a week. Ideally we would like someone to support us on a Tuesday or Wednesday.
Location
Various locations including Cardiff, RCT, Swansea, Bangor, Conwy, Wrexham and Rhyl
