Are you organised, with an eye for detail and Welsh speaking? We are looking for volunteers to support our transcription team by preparing a variety of texts primarily in the welsh language. Texts will range from reading books to study material and your support will enable us to transcribe them into accessible formats for blind and partially sighted people.
This role does not require a DBS check
What will I be doing?

Data input. Scanning or typing text into word processing software

Accurately proofreading, editing and structuring text on screen, working to the original printed document

Structuring documents using specialist software

Cutting, binding, labelling and despatching finished products as required
What skills and qualities can I bring to this role?

A good command of the Welsh language

Excellent attention to detail

Good level of literacy and keyboard skills

Confidence with using Microsoft office systems, particularly Word and scanning software

Aware of Data Protection protocols

Ability to follow instructions in line with policy and processes

Comfortable with working unsupervised
When will I be needed?
This opportunity is open ended and there is no set time commitment, however we hope that volunteers are able to donate enough time to fully utilise the training provided by RNIB.
Specific hours can be discussed and agreed between you and your volunteer manager.
Where will I be volunteering?
RNIB Transcription Centre, Trident Court, Cardiff.
