To enable blind and partially sighted people to volunteer for RNIB Cymru, the Cardiff site are developing a "hot desk" with a range of specialist, access technology equipment available to meet the volunteers' individual needs.

Are you outgoing and confident with the ability to develop relationships with Low Vision Practitioners either face to face or telephone contact. Community Engagement Volunteer

We are looking for volunteers to help us on an ad hoc basis, to engage with the local community to support RNIB projects and activities that raise funds to help and support blind and partially sighted children and adults. Opportunity available throughout Wales

Volunteers are needed to help run activities in existing and new Social and Support Groups for blind and partially sighted people. Opportunity available in Swansea, Neath and RCT areas.

Befriender

RNIB Cymru is committed to supporting blind and partially sighted people within Wales through a range of services that we provide. The befriending service supports isolated blind and partially sighted people and hopes to build up their confidence. The service ensures people remain independent as much as possible and provides an opportunity for them to socialise and take part in activities they may otherwise not have been able to do so. An enthusiasm to enable clients to take part, awareness of their needs, effective listening skills and a natural empathy for people is expected. Opportunity available in RCT, Swansea & Neath.

Braille Transcriber

By transcribing printed texts into braille, and using your excellent attention to detail you could make a real difference to the lives of blind and partially sighted people across the UK. Opportunity available in Cardiff.

Text Preparer

Preparing a range of texts - from knitting patterns to study material - ready for transcription into accessible formats for blind and partially sighted people. Opportunity available in Cardiff.

Studio Reader

Lending your voice and enthusiasm to help blind and partially sighted people access everything from newsletters to a favourite cookery book by digitally recording audio versions at the RNIB Transcription Centre in Cardiff,
