To enable blind and partially sighted people to volunteer for RNIB Cymru, the Cardiff site are developing a "hot desk" with a range of specialist, access technology equipment available to meet the volunteers' individual needs.

Travel Support Volunteer - Cardiff area Travel Volunteering Project

Would you like to be part of our exciting new travel pilot in your area? We are looking for volunteers who would like to support blind and partially sighted people in their community to discover ways to travel confidently and independently. A Travel Support Volunteer will help a blind or partially sighted person to plan, choose and arrange journeys using public transport; and accompany him or her to help familiarise them with their chosen journey. Full training is provided; volunteers will travel within the Cardiff area.

Text Preparer (Welsh Language)

Are you organised, with an eye for detail and Welsh speaking? We are looking for volunteers to support our transcription team by preparing a variety of texts primarily in the welsh language. Texts will range from reading books to study material and your support will enable us to transcribe them into accessible formats for blind and partially sighted people.Opportunitity available in Cardiff.

ECLO - Befriender

Are you a good listener? Are you friendly, patient and able to build a good rapport with people? If so we need your help with our new Eye Clinic Liaison Officer befriending service.The befriending service supports isolated blind and partially sighted people and hopes to build up their confidence. The service helps to ensure people feel less isolated in their homes and ensures they remain independent. Opportunity available in Bridgend and Neath Port Talbot.

ECLO Customer Feedback Volunteer - Swansea

Do you have excellent communications skills? Can you build a rapport with people over the telephone and put them at ease? Could you carry out follow up telephone calls to customers that have received assistance from our team of Eye Clinic Liaison Officers? If so we need you to help evaluate how our service assists people in maintaining their independence and find out whether they require any further help. This role will be based at Singleton Hospital, Swansea.

Driver - Transcall

To drive our clients to services, or driving blind and partially sighted volunteers to enable them to carry out their volunteering role. Own vehicle required. Opportunity available in Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan.

Information Giver

Having gained enough knowledge through personal experience or RNIB training, you are able to direct, or give details to clients or their assistants', information needed. This could be via the telephone or through personal contact, maybe reading through with them appropriate publications or leaflets. You will be patient, flexible with a thirst for more knowledge as constant research is required. Opportunity available at Pontypridd and Port Talbot.

Driver - Social and Support Groups

To drive our clients to Social and Support Group Meetings or driving blind and partially sighted volunteers to enable them to carry out their volunteering role. Own vehicle required. Opportunity available in Rhondda Cynon Taf, Merthyr, Swansea.

Admin Office/Resource Centre Support Volunteer

To assist and support staff at Swansea Vale Resource Centre and the Disability Action Centre, Llandarcy. Duties include using the telephone, editing and distributing letters, filing, photocopying, mail shots and general administrative duties. Appropriate training is offered in all areas for a team worker. Opportunity available in Swansea and Neath Port Talbot
