Join RNIB for the biggest half marathon in the world and help us support more people with sight loss.
Right now, we can only reach 1 in 3 who need our help. Run for RNIB in the Great North Run and help us reach them all.
Over 40,000 runners will take on the 13.1 mile half marathon route running through Newcastle city centre, over the iconic Tyne Bridge, where you might be lucky to catch a glimpse of the red arrows; then winding through Gateshead, cheered on by tens of thousands of supporters, and crossing the finishing by the beautiful South Shields coastline.
With live BBC coverage and some of the world’s top long-distance athletes participating; this is an unforgettable running event not to be missed.
Team RNIB runners receive outstanding support, from the moment you sign up:
Register as an own place runner to be part of Team RNIB and you'll still receive all of the same support from our events team.
Every 15 minutes someone loses their sight. However, right now many people receive no support at all when given this news. We want to change that.
We’re on a mission to make sure every UK hospital has a dedicated Sight Loss Advisor. Your fundraising will help us be there when people need us most, as we grow our network of expert advisors and reach everyone who needs our emotional and practical support.
