BookSense Firmware release notes

Please follow instructions to upgrade your BookSense.
1. Check the firmware version on your BookSense is version 2.21 or later. If you have an earlier version please contact the RNIB Technology Support Team on 0845 900 0015.
2. Download firmware file from available link to your PC. * Please be sure that the BookSense XT(white model) firmware is different from the Standard BookSense(red model). So if you will use firmware not matched with your BookSense model, the BookSense will not work correctly.
3. Unzip the firmware file on your PC then there is a file.
4. Copy a file and paste them into the root of SD card. * Please be sure that a file should be in the root of SD card and the BookSense will not upgrade with a file in other places.
5. Insert the SD card into the BookSense.
6. Connect the AC adaptor to the BookSense.
7. Call menu by pressing MENU button and move to "Advance" menu using UP or DOWN arrow button.
8. Press MENU button on the "Advance" menu in order to enter into sub menu and move to "Upgrade" menu using UP or DOWN arrow button.
9. Press the Right arrow. You are asked “Do you want to upgrade? Yes”.
10. Press the MENU or the OK button and the system will reboot and start upgrading.  
11. When the 1st upgrade is complete, repeat the above steps 7 to 10. Please note: the BookSense will inform you that you are already running the firmware found on the SD card and ask if you wish to upgrade anyway. Please press the OK key to continue with the upgrade.

* Each upgrade will be take one or two minutes and then the BookSense will start automatically. * When the upgrade is done, please check your system information.

Version 3 provides the following new additions and enhancements:

++Text & Number Input
Using current built-in keypad, you can enter letters to find a file or a word in a document
Input numbers to select and go directly to your favorite radio channel 

++Easy & Simple File Transfer
Without vexing computer and cable connection, simply transfer(copy & save) a file between SD card/USB and flash disc of BookSense. Share your music, document or Daisy files with your friends with convenience

++Record in Daisy format
Select and record in Daisy format as well as current WAV, MP3. You can create your own voice book with the information of page, heading, phrase and mark

++Use the latest Music for your Alarm sound
Select your favorite music or radio channel and use it as your morning alarm. Do not get stressed with annoying alarm bell, but wake up and start your day pleasantly with the music of your selection
You can also control and set the alarm volume separately for the main volume

++Automatic Option Saving
You have a choice to save your option between Automatic option saving and Manual option saving
You also have same choice for restoration : Automatic / Manual

++Enhanced Equalizer band Play option & Quality
Fully enjoy the sensitive details and rich sound of your music with the various selection of equalizers
Dance, Full Bass, Live, and Jazz are added to current Pop, Classic, Rock

++Play & Read PDF file
BookSense has been supporting most various file formats amongst all Daisy players in the market. Now add PDF file in your play list!

++Read Daisy contents directly from USB or SD card
Without the nuisance of creating Daisy folder in a USB or SD card, save contents in the root of your external memory and play them directly in BookSense
