RNIB speaking at Droidcon London 2012

Post details

25-26 October, Business Design Centre Islington, London

RNIB Accessibility Specialists Gary Readfern-Gray and Nick Williamson will be presenting a session on 'Developing accessible apps for Android' at the 2012 Droidcon event in London.

Droidcon is an international event which covers all things Android, from mobile devices, to TV, to cars, to gaming, and more.

As well as speaking at the event, RNIB will have two developers on hand to provide advice on creating accessible mobile apps and will also be issuing a challenge to developers taking part in the weekend hackathon 'VHack'.

The challenge is simple - RNIB is looking to recognise the app that best demonstrates the principles of accessibility for blind and partially sighted users. The winning app will be accessible to people with sight loss and be an innovative solution to an accessibility problem. The prize is £500, plus the opportunity to be mentored by accessibility specialist developers from RNIB.
