SourceForge features NVDA as their Project of the Month for March

Post details

It's been a busy couple of days for the team behind NVDA. Earlier this week NVDA 2011.1, the latest stable version was released. Then, SourceForge published an article featuring NVDA in their Project of the Month series. It's great to see an assistive technology project receiving this level of publicity!

Whether you're an NVDA user who's curious about the history and future of the project or a techie who wants to know more about what goes on under the hood, the article is well worth a read. Read the full article on the SourceForge.net blog

NVDA evaluation comparison

At a presentation at the big CSUN technology conference in San Diego, The Icelandic National Institute concerned with blind people presented:
Evaluating Screen Reading Software: A Cost Effective and Task-Based Approach. NVDA came out very well. Jaws and Windoweyes gained 93 points, and NVDA 75. The main difference was that NVDA had no support for braille. Many people find NVDA meets their needs. It's free. Support it and try it.
I note that there aren't any comments to the blogs. So, let's share our experiences.
