December's Website of the Month is Lakeland.

Lakeland sells a wide selection of creative kitchenware and homeware products. Maybe you're searching for a solution to solve the common kitchen conundrum of keeping the oven clean, perhaps you need a nifty new set of knives, or something as simple as a cloth to clean your iPad? Why is Lakeland Website of the Month?

The site is well structured, uncluttered and easy to navigate. You can find products by searching, choosing a category, or filtering by price. Information about each product is clearly provided and the checkout process is very user friendly.

I look forward to shopping on the Lakeland website each Christmas. It's so easy to find the things I'm looking for, whether I'm browsing for stocking filler ideas or looking for something specific. I always find their product information really accessible. The information you need is usually right there on the page, so you don't have to rely on poor image descriptions or token information. The add to basket links on some pages don't have image descriptions, but it's easy enough to understand what to do because of the name of the image. This could be improved, but it really doesn't detract from the overall ease of using the site.

Tips and tricks

1. Use your screen reader's shortcut key for headings. This will enable you to plough through long lists of products in no time, as each product has been assigned to a heading at Lakeland.
2. When you find a product you're interested in, notice that there is a short description right beneath the heading. At Lakeland, these are very comprehensive. You usually won't have to visit the full product page to find out basic details.
3. Grab yourself some mini mince pies, they come highly recommended by Léonie!
