Post details
Here's one for all you music fans and budding musicians. Aurifi - a completely accessible audio-only music based game for your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch.
Rather than explain too much about how the game works, check out the audio demo the developers have made available. It's much more immersive than we could ever convey in text.
Where to get it
The game itself is quite a large download, coming in at just under 40 megabytes. We'd advise using a wi-fi connection to download it.
User comment
We heard from Janet Tuggey who has played Aurifi on her iPhone 3GS.
Now here's an interesting and addictive little game for when you want a bit of time out. It's totally accessible and in fact, you don't even need to have VoiceOver running as all the instructions are spoken so it's best to turn VoiceOver off. Using headphones is a must for this one as the game is based on sound and motion. You are given instructions and you have to touch the screen or move the phone in a certain way to get the results it asks for, say for speeding up the music or getting drum beats to be in time with you tapping the screen. The sound seems to come from all directions around you, not just left or right but in front and behind you, which is why the headphones are essential. You can get drawn into the game very easily, and I've often forgotten how much time has flown by since I started playing it.
