Mobility and independence assessment scheme for children

Mobility and independence book

Mobility and independence is an assessment and evaluation scheme to help raise the awareness of the importance of mobility education for blind and partially sighted children throughout their lives.

This publication is free of charge and was developed by a working group from MISE (Mobility and Independence Specialists in Education). MISE brings together mobility specialists who work with children and young people with sight problems.

This publication provides a framework that can be used by mobility specialists in collaboration with others to develop a profile of an individual learner who has little or no sight. This profile is to be regularly updated and shared with those who are involved with the learner as parents or carers and professionals working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
