Emotional support and counselling

Sight loss may be something you or someone close to you has been living with for a long time, or it may be a new experience. It's not unusual to have strong feelings about sight loss and there will probably be times when you wish you had some emotional support.

If you would like to find out about the kinds of emotional support that are available, our Coping with feelings page is a good place to start.

If you have decided that you would like to have counselling, our Talking it over page offers suggestions and information about finding a counsellor.

We also offer an Emotional Support Telephone Service. This provides confidential telephone support, information and counselling to people who are experiencing emotional difficulties because of sight loss.
