About the Telephone Book Clubs

Get together over the phone for a chat about reading and all kinds of books.

  • Take part from the comfort of home.
  • Our friendly and highly trained volunteers facilitate the groups.
  • Each book club runs once a month for six months.
  • Groups choose from a varied book list, all available on DAISY CD, braille, MP3, large print, and audio cassette.
  • There is the opportunity to hear from a guest speaker (recent speakers have been authors Jill Dawson, Sarah Waters, Jane Finnis, Martin Davies and poets Katrina Porteous, Esther Morgan and George Szirtes).

"The books clubs have woken up an interest in me that was dormant. I have become all fired up about books again."
