Telephone Book Clubs

Share your passion for books, discover new authors and hear from guest speakers including narrators and publishers by taking part in our Telephone Book Clubs for people with sight loss.

"The books clubs have woken up an interest in me that was dormant. I have become all fired up about books again."

About the book clubs

The Book Clubs are made up of small groups of people getting together over the phone for a chat about all kinds of books and reading in general. All from the comfort of home. Our friendly and highly trained volunteers facilitate the groups.

Each book club runs once a month for six months over the telephone. As a group you'll choose two books from a best-seller list all available on DAISY CD, Calibre cassette, in MP3, braille and large print.

Book Clubs cost £12 for six sessions. It won't cost anymore as we call you.

RNIB Members can take part for free. Free Telephone Book Clubs are just one of the great things about being an RNIB Member. Find out more information on how to become a member.

There will be the opportunity to hear from a guest speaker. Recent speakers have been authors Jill Dawson, Sarah Waters, Jane Finnis, Martin Davies and poets Katrina Porteous, Esther Morgan and George Szirtes.
