Sight problems guide

Sight loss can affect anyone, and each person's experience is individual to them - it is not the same for everyone.

Many people with sight problems lead full and independent lives. Some may need assistance with certain tasks and may have to adapt their daily lives, although this is possible and very often achieved with success.

RNIB produce a sight problems guide which addresses many topics relating to sight loss, including:

  • What does 'sight problems' mean?
  • What are the common causes of sight problems?
  • What can people with sight problems see?
  • Can it be difficult getting around?
  • What can help people to get around safely?
  • Products to make life easier
  • How do people with sight problems read?
  • How can computers help?
  • Should I offer help?
  • What other support can I offer?
  • What organisations offer help?
  • How does RNIB help?
