Ulster Folk and Transport Museum, County Down

The Ulster Folk and Transport Museum has a series of facilities and services for blind and partially sighted visitors. Museum staff worked with a consumer panel of visitors with sight problems to developing these.

The Flight Exhibition includes:

  • a customised audio tour for blind and partially sighted people
  • an interactive information station.

The Visitor Information Centre has:

  • large print and braille information
  • tactile maps.

The Folk Gallery has the handling collection.

The Titanic Experience, Belfast

The Titanic Experience, Belfast has free audio guides with descriptive audio text for blind and partially sighted visitors.

There is voice indication in all front-of-house lifts, hand rail extensions and contrasting floor textures and guide dogs are welcome.
