Contrapunctus

The goal of Contrapunctus is to design and develop a demonstrative service which allows blind musicians a faster and easier access and use of the Braille music scores, filed in libraries and transcription centres.

The project will research and develop tools to file, through an innovative system, the Braille music texts of the most important European libraries for blind people. This system will also allow to share the texts through the internet and to offer new solutions for reading, comprehension and memorisation of music.

Contrapunctus is a European research project, started on 1 June 2006 to be completed by 31 May 2009. RNIB's Music Advisory Service is the UK partner.

For further details, see the Contrapunctus website.
