Having a sight problem shouldn't be a barrier to learning. We work to ensure that blind and partially sighted children and adults gain get the best out of school and college.
Supporting children through school
For parents and carers, read about supporting your child through the education system at early years, primary, secondary level and beyond. If your child has a sight problem and additional, complex health, physical or learning needs, you may have questions or concerns about how they will learn, read our information on supporting children with complex needs.
RNIB Sunshine House School and Rushton School and Children's Home offer specialist provision for children with sight loss and we also run a college of Further Education. Visit Special schools and colleges in the UK to explore other options for you or your child.
Adult learners
Our adult learning information can help you make decisions and get the most out of learning whatever your age and can support you if you are returning to learning after sight loss. If you yourself are in further or higher education or planning your next step after school, visit our student site.
