Young people and staff at RNIB Rushton School and Children's Home (now RNIB Pears Centre for Specialist Learning) were delighted to be paid a special visit recently by long standing RNIB supporter Cherie Blair.
Rushton currently offers specialist education, 52-week residential care, therapies and health support for young people up to the age 19 years who have a sight problem and additional complex needs. The site is now undergoing a major redevelopment to improve facilities for the young people living and learning there.
Cherie Blair comments
"I have been a supporter of RNIB for a long time, so I am absolutely delighted to be able to visit Rushton School and Children's Home, to see first hand the impact its terrific work has on the lives of these inspiring young people.
The transformation of the facilities and quality of the staff on site at Rushton are testament to RNIB's commitment to providing the highest quality of care and support for individuals and families affected by sight loss.
RNIB Rushton School and Children's Home is truly moving, and I look forward to hearing more about the exciting developments of the new site."
