Led by Drama and Music Therapists, this session will provide insight into creative therapy practice. It will outline some of the theoretical frameworks which underpin the work, and will offer opportunities for delegates to gain a practical understanding through participation using musical instruments and dramatherapy resources.
Who should attend?
This workshop is open to all practitioners who are interested in finding out more about how the creative therapies can enable pupils to better access their education through supporting their emotional needs.
Learning objectives

To develop knowledge and understanding of music therapy, dramatherapy, and creative therapy (which combines music and drama).

To gain understanding of the role these therapies have within a special educational needs setting; considering how creative therapies can support and enable pupils to better access their education

To learn some practical ways that creative therapy principles can inform interaction with children outside of the therapeutic environment, such as in a classroom context.
